Lets Party!

On Sunday, Grant and I went to a birthday party for Hannah (one of my best friend's daughter).  It was at a huge children's gym at the YMCA and there were tons of things to climb and jump on.  Grant had so much fun and I loved seeing him jump and play!  He is growing up so much!

Grant will rarely sit still for me to take pics of him. For some reason, he was agreeable to taking a few pics before the party so I took advantage of it...here are a few of my favorites:)

My First Baseball Game

We took Grant to his first baseball game on Saturday night. We went to see the Gastonia Grizzlies play.  We ate hotdogs and chips and cheered for the team...it was a night of family fun:)  Grant seemed to enjoy it although he didn't really watch a lot of the game.  His favorite things were climbing on the bleachers and seeing the grizzly bear mascot:)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Daddy! Thanks for being such a great Dad!
We had a great Father's Day last Sunday! Grant gave his daddy a few presents at home before heading up to Lake James. We spent the day at the lake playing outside, riding the golf cart, going on a boat ride, and swimming in the lake and kiddie pool.  Grant of course loved being outside and playing all day!  Last year, he wasn't very interested in swimming in the lake, but he is enjoying any type of swimming this year:)  We are looking forward to lots of fun weekends at the lake this summer!

Grant absolutely adores his dad and wants to be just like him...from the shoes and ballcaps he wears to the things he likes to do.  Grant gets so excited every time his daddy walks in the door!  Grant is so fortunate to have such a wonderful Dad and I am so fortunate to have such a great husband!

Grant is also so lucky to have two awesome PawPaws.  He tells me all the time, "I have two PawPaws, Mommy!"  He got to spend Saturday with his PaPaw Martin and Sunday with his PawPaw Harris and really couldn't have enjoyed it more.  He loves riding on the tractor with his PaPaw Martin and the boat and Gator with his PawPaw Harris.  I am so thankful that Grant has such wonderful men in his life!

Family Beach Trip 2012

Last week, we went on our annual family trip to North Myrtle Beach with my entire family.  We had a great trip and Grant and Hannah couldn't have had more fun together!  Grant literally copies basically everything that Hannah does and loved having 5 days of playtime with her! They both are not huge fans of the ocean, but did like playing in the sand and loved the pool and lazy river.  When we were leaving to come home on Sunday, Grant was in the car and said "Where we going Mommy?"  I told him we were going home and he said, "No, I wanna go swimming Mommy!"  Grant also had fun building sandcastles and looking for seashells.  It was great for Grant and Hannah to get to spend so much quality time together and with MiMi and PawPaw.

Grant says some of the funniest things now.  Example:  He wore a swim diaper a lot and they don't work very well.  Grant is at the point now that he tells us a lot of times when he pees.  We are trying to get him to tell us before he goes so that he can use the potty, but we aren't there yet...baby steps right?  Anyway, we are walking in from the beach and Grant says, "I pee pee Mommy." I say, "Grant, that's ok, you have on a swim diaper."  Grant then says, "Pee pee wuning (running) down my egg (leg) Mommy!"  Aunt Mary Ellen and I couldn't stop laughing:)

Unfortunately, Grant started feeling bad towards the end of our trip...too much fun, sun, water and sand.  He started running a fever and had a pretty bad cold and cough.  Thank goodness he is better now!

All in all, we had a great time and made so many lasting memories!
