Happy Birthday Lila!

On Saturday, we went to Lila's (Grant's girlfriend :)) 1st birthday party! There was lots of good food, fun and friends!  The food and decorations were amazing (awesome job Jodi!)!!  Lila was the cutest birthday girl and Grant had the best time playing with everyone!  It really made me excited for Grant's birthday...it is only 6 short weeks away!

Grant and Lila both like similar things :)

The two love birds playing together

Grant loved visiting with everyone!

 What a sweet family!

"Hey Daddy"

Every morning I wake up Grant and feed him and then we come back upstairs to see Dad.  He is usually in the bathroom getting ready and Grant gets so excited as I begin to open the bathroom door.  On Friday morning, we went in to the bathroom and I told Grant to say "Hey Daddy."  He looked right up and said "Hey Daddy!"  Brandon and I both looked at each other and were like, did he really just say that?  It was the first time he has put two words together.  Of course, he did it that one time and hasn't done it since :)

His new words this week have been duck and bottle...although they are not consistent yet either.

BTW...we had to put Grant back on the hypoallergenic formula.  This week, he started having stomach problems and was more fussy than normal so we switched him back.  So I guess he hasn't grown out of his milk protein allergy yet :(  We have to talk to his pediatrician to find out the next step from here...oh well, we tried.

The Things I Say and Do

Grant's new words (although he doesn't say all of these consistently yet):
Hey
Bye
Ka (for car)
Ball
Ah oh- He loves to say this when he drops a toy or throws all of his toys off of his high chair
PawPaw- He said this for the first time last night after my dad said, "Grant say PawPaw" about 100 times :)
He is imitating what we say so much more now...It is very cute!

Some of his favorite things to do:
Play Ball- he loves catching it and throwing it back
Play Peek-a-boo- He loves to initiate playing peek-a-boo by putting a towel or blanket over his face and then pulling it off or by hiding behind something....again it is so cute!
Smile/Laugh and shake his head no when you tell him "no"
Pull all of the books off of his book shelf
Put anything he can find in his mouth
Stand up
Swing/stroll outside

Grant is finally starting to not mind eating things that have a more crunchy texture.  He will eat food like puffs now.  He also has been on his new formula for 2 weeks now...so far so good :)

Come Slide With Me

Last Sunday we took Grant to the playground across from our house.  It has tons of slides and Dad and Grant tried all of them out!  I'm not sure if Grant or Brandon had more fun :)

10 months old!

Grant is the big 1-0...10 months old!!! Can you believe it 'cause I can't!!  Every time I say "I have a 10 month old," I think "Is that right?"  Only 2 short months until he is 1 year old!!

He is still a little speed crawler and can stand by himself for a few seconds at a time before falling down.  He continues to babble more and more and seems to really understand more of what we are saying.  He is starting to understand "no" and can shake his head "no."  He also loves playing peek-a-boo!  Standing and climbing on anything he can are some of his favorite things to do, along with reading/looking at books.

He is a growing boy and still loves to eat (as long as it is soft).  We haven't been able to get him to anything like puffs yet (they make him gag).  His hair continues to get longer and longer and has a mind of it's own on some days :)

His smile and laugh still make me melt and I will never get enough of either one!

Getting ready with Dad

I can't get enough of those blue eyes...
