Myrtle Beach...here we come!

Kelli (my sister) insisted we all dress in khaki and white for a family pic :)

We just got back from a 5 day trip to Myrtle Beach with my entire family!  We had a really great time...but it was definitely an experience with a 1 year old and 2 year old!  We stayed in a really fun and family friendly ocean front resort that had an indoor water park with a great kids area.  Grant and Hannah absolutely loved it!  We spent time playing on the beach, although Grant or Hannah neither one were very thrilled about the ocean...they enjoyed playing in the sand but mostly liked being in the pool and the kids area of the water park.  We took them to Barefoot Landing, went out to eat and let them spend lots of time playing together.  They really had lots of fun together and it was great seeing Grant experience so many new things!  (Mom and Dad also had fun at the water park...especially Dad :))

Unfortunately, Grant got a stomach bug on Monday that led to lots of vomit all over him, the carseat and the car on Monday night :(  Thankfully, he started feeling better on Tuesday and was ready to hit the pool again.

All in all, we have lots of great memories from this trip.  I have been to Myrtle Beach so many times, but there is nothing like experiencing things for the first time with your child.  Although vacations can be a lot of work with small children, it really is worth every bit of it to see the excitement on Grant's face!

16 months!

Grant turned 16 months this week!  We had to break out the pants and fall/winter clothes for the past few days because it has been cooler, which has been really nice.  Grant is still a little ball of energy...I really don't understand how one person can have so much energy :)  He continues to learn new things each day and Brandon and I truly are amazed at how quickly he can learn and pick up on new things.  He can tell you the sounds of a duck, dog, cat, monkey, cow, pig, sheep, chick, frog, clock, train, truck/car and I'm sure I am forgetting some of them.  He can identify so many different objects and people and is starting to talk more in 2-3 word phrases.  He absolutely loves daycare and all of his friends there and continues to be obsessed with hats!  His favorite things are still playing outside, reading books, and doing anything that involves playing with his daddy.  He really has the cutest little personality and I could listen to his laugh all day long!

I think someone needs a haircut...
