Two Months Old!

Grant turned two months old today! I honestly can't believe how fast time has flown by since he has been born. He has grown and changed so much in the past 2 months and I can't imagine my life without him! He had his 2 month check up today also. It went well other than he had to get 3 shots! It was so hard to watch and Brandon and I both were almost in tears. Overall, he did really well though. He was a little more sleepy and fussy afterwards, but soon was back to his normal self and has been playing and kicking his arms and legs around as usual. We were excited to find out some of his measurements. He is now 12 lbs 2 ozs. (60th percentile compared to other kids his age), his head size is 15 1/2 cm (25th percentile), and length is 22 1/4 in. ( 25th percentile). He is on track with all of his developmental milestones and the doctor said it was very likely that he would hit some of the gross motor milestones early (rolling over, crawling, etc.) because he is such an active baby. He was wide awake and kicking his arms and legs the entire time during his examination and even gave his doctor a few smiles :)

Two month stats/accomplishments:

Sleeping 6-7 hours straight at night
Sleeping in his crib!
Wears 0-3 month clothing, he has grown out of all of his newborn clothes
Wears size 1 diapers
Eats 4-5 ounces on average every 3 hours during the day, sometimes its every 2-2 1/2 hours- we are still working on a schedule
Holds head up more consistently
Pulls head up when lying flat especially towards the bottle when about to eat
Tracks objects/people with his eyes
Loves his playgym and bats at the toys
Loves lights, music and ceiling fans
Smiles all the time
Makes more and more baby sounds
Crys a lot less now, but still has the loudest cry I have ever heard when he is hungry and the bottle isn't immediately ready :)

Resting after his 2 month check up, notice the two garfield bandaids

  1. Oooooh....he's so big! I can't wait to get my hands on him at the wedding. Congrats on surviving shots...the first ones are the hardest.
